The battle at Davis Bridge occurred in October 1862, when Union forces clashed with the retreating Confederate Army of West Tennessee at the Hatchie River. Today, 839 acres of the battlefield have been protected and are administered by the State of Tennessee through Big Hill Pond State Park and Shiloh National Military Park.
