The Arts Backstage is a new invitation only event for Jackson's Leaders to meet Jackson's Artists sponsored by the Jackson Arts Council. It will take place on the stage at the NED on February 13 from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity for Jackson's leaders and influencers to connect with artists and become advocates for them in the community,” said Ginger Williams, board member and chair of the event. “One of the most common things we hear from the Jackson Arts Council is that our local artists are able to sell outside of Jackson but they struggle to sell in Jackson. We want to honor these local artists and encourage them to stay and make a living here in Jackson.”

During the event, artists will display some of their past work and a brief bio. Individual businesses will sponsor a handful of local artists who will be able to display some of their past work and a brief bio. Their work will be spotlighted on the stage where guests will enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres while meeting the artists.

Throughout the evening there will be a few live performances by local musicians as well as a brief pop up play on the stage in the middle of the event.
