“We knew it was coming, but the Run AJM Jackson Andrew Jackson Marathon Committee kept holding on to the hope that we could pull off a wonderful and safe race.  In all fairness, maintaining the safety and health of all participants and volunteers in this group setting would be a logistics challenge.  The committee feels that due to this and the increasing positive numbers, we simply cannot host the race. Therefore, the decision was made to host the first ever virtual race for the 48th Annual Andrew Jackson Marathon!

The virtual Run AJM Jackson Andrew Jackson Marathon can be done any time the week of September 7th – September 14th. It's your race, your course and your day to run for the kids of the Carl Perkins Center! Supporting the kids served by the Center is critical now more than ever as the effects of the pandemic have resulted in increased numbers of abuse cases.  For these kids, the Beary Best Friends are so important in their healing process. Therefore, we will still be accepting teddy bears – just a little differently. Watch for more information on Beary Best Friends donations in the detailed information mentioned below.

As a registered race participant, you will still receive your fabulous race shirt. Our custom-designed finisher medals will still be provided, however, we're working on that process and will have detailed information out soon. If you choose to defer your race entry to April 3, 2021, you will need to do so before 11:59pm August 14, 2020. Any requests to defer after the August 14, 2020 deadline will not be honored.”

Smack in the middle of Memphis and Nashville right in West Tennessee you will find beautiful Jackson, Tennessee, home of the Andrew Jackson Marathon. Known as Tennessee's Oldest Marathon, the Andrew Jackson Marathon starts and finishes in historical downtown Jackson. The course takes runners through the renovated downtown area, beside the University of Memphis Lambuth Campus Arboretum, along tree-lined residential neighborhoods and around the medical center area with challenging hills and great new landscapes. The course offers a half marathon single loop (13.1 miles) and a full marathon double loop (26.2 miles), which makes for an awesome Boston Marathon Qualifier. Come join us, stay for the weekend and see what our beautiful city has to offer.
